We have just returned from the 13th EFTMS Workshop, held in Friesing Germany. At the meeting, David spoke about the labs new work using isotope depletion mass spectrometry for improving top-down mass spectrometry. Thanks to Kelly and Michael for driving this project forward.
We're welcoming Abir Chakraborty to the lab for a 1 month research visit. Abir is a PhD student at the University of Rhodes, South Africa and is joining us to perform structural studies on heat shock proteins using HDX mass spectrometry. His visit is funded by the NRF (South Africa).
The School of Chemistry has received funding from the BBSRC for the installation of ultra-high mass resolution FT-ICR mass spectrometry. More details to follow, but exciting times ahead. The new equipment will underpin future BBSRC research in Edinburgh and beyond.
Developing a Hydrogen/Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry (HDX-MS) Platform to Study the Structure and Assembly of Bacterial Nanocompartments.
Applications are invited for a fully funded 3-year PhD studentship in the area of Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry. This is a fully funded studentship available to UK nationals (or EU nationals who have been resident in the UK for 3 years). Please see here for more infor...
A warm welcome to Michael Palasser, who joins the group from Innsbruck University as a visiting student on the Erasmus program. Michael will be developing isotope depletion mass spectrometry techniques to study protein modifications.
