Congratulations to Will! His paper on FT-ICR MS analysis of Scotch Whisky has just been published. Find it here (open access). Our study is the most comprehensive chemical analysis of Scotch Whisky to date. Research performed in collaboration with Uhrin Lab (Edinburgh) and Scotch Whisky Research Institute.
A flurry of publications this month, as we publish work with The Brown Group (Exeter), The Tabudravua Group (Aberdeen), and The Davidson Group (Edinburgh). See our Publications page for more information.
Our latest paper has just gone online, published in eLife (open access). Read all about our structural and biochemical study of an encapsulated ferritin. Congratulations to all the team in Edinburgh and Newcastle - a real collaborative effort between Marles-Wright, Clarke, and Waldron research groups. See our Publications page for more information.
Congratulations to Dr. Clint Veale! He's been awarded a Royal Society-Newton Mobility Grant to continue his collaboration with us on developing mass spectrometry techniques for drug discovery. The funding will allow several scientific visits over the next two years been Rhodes University (South Africa) and the University of Edinburgh. Clint will be back int Edinburgh in September 2016.
Sam will be presenting some of his PhD research at the forthcoming BMSS ion mobility mass spectrometry (IM-MS) special interest group meeting at the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology at Birkbeck College London. Sam will be talking about our recent work using both ion mobility and top-down fragmentation to explore protein structure and stability.
A warm welcome to Hayley Lazar who has joined us from the The University of Connecticut. Hayley will be doing a summer project in the group, studying the metallobinding proteins by mass spectrometry and ion mobilty.
